Footwashing during the liturgy
On St. Patrick’s Day, the parish of St. Anne’s Tifton, hosted the Bishop, Priests and deacons of the Diocese of Georgia for the annual Clergy Day of Preparation for Easter. The clergy gathered to share ideas for Holy Week services and then to enter into worship using the Maundy Thursday liturgy with renewal of ordination vows and blessing of oils included. The day was the 27th anniversary of Bishop Benhase’s ordination to the priesthood.
The Rev. Loren Hague’s sermon emphasized the words of the liturgy “I will with God’s help” to say that being ordained was a dangerous job if those ordained ever attempted “I will” without the “with God’s help.” The day concluded with a wonderful lucnch provided by the women of St. Anne’s.

The reserve sacrament is processed to historic “Little St. Anne’s”
as the liturgy concludes with a time of silence.
